Discover Seamartist at Shongweni Farmers & Craft Market!

Early Monday morning, and I am sitting at the local bus stop, waiting for a Khumbi (iTaxi, minibus) to downtown Durban and wondering: how can I make this process easier for you to experience the “Shongweni Market Shopping” experience for yourself?
We been trading here for almost two years but I am still trying to wear off the amazing local vibes that we experienced at the Shongweni Farmers Market on Saturday. Many people search for “Shongweni Farmers Market Directions” and “Shongweni Farmers Market Stores”, which honestly has me thinking: how do I make your life easier if you haven't yet experienced what this fantastic market community has to offer?

Keep reading until the end as we share some information about this fantastic Durban Market. We have listed some common / frequently asked question and the answers for you.

The Shongweni Farmers and Craft Market is situated uphill, in Shongweni (yes, this is an area, not just a market, with many communities working, living and thriving together).
The market was founded by Christine Standeaven more than twenty years ago. Back then, it was wild and untouched by man and machine, and the drive would have been breathtaking, with air so clean that your lungs questioned whether it was super cold or super fresh.

The drive to the Shongweni Farmers and Craft Market is still something to be truly appreciated, especially when coming from the hustle and bustle of Durban and the surrounding areas.
To find out more about the market, head over to their website by clicking here:

Seamartist is one of the South African clothing brands located at stall B6, not far from the main music stage and seating area after you enter. If you're not sure where we are, you can ask at reception, look at the map at the entrance (look for B6), or simply WhatsApp us on +27 79 583 0296.

Seamartist is one of the Shongweni Farmers Market stores, mainly making casual men's items like T-shirts, button-up shirts and related items. We cater for up to 7XL in our button-up shirts because everything is manufactured in Durban by a small and passionate team.
Our T-shirts are sourced from premium local factories and printed using traditional screen-printing methods right here in Durban!
We are a business focused on selling local vibes and offering the best options when shopping for local gifts, especially for that special man (father, son or husband 🥰) in your life.

Our main clientele are expats, travellers, those shopping in Hillcrest and looking for something #madeindurban, as well as our super-patriotic South Africans.

Shongweni Farmers Market Directions

Whether you are coming from Durban or Pietermaritzburg, take the N3 and then take the Shongweni/Assagay off-ramp. You will see a farm-like area (think sugar farm-type vibes). If you are coming from Durban, you will take a left, and if you are coming from PMB, you will take a right. Continue straight, where you will see the recently built Westown Mall on your left. Continue straight for another 5 to 6 kilometres. There will be open fields on your left and businesses on your right.
You will go around a few curves and encounter a couple of our favourite South African potholes. After the above-mentioned distance, the Shongweni Farmers Market will be on your right. It is very hard to miss!
