One of our manufactures based in Ntuzuma ( Durban )

#Seamartist Made in Durban townships

As you know, at Seamartist more than 90% of our garments are manufactured locally, right here in Durban, or at least finished here. We are based in Essenwood / Morningside and work with many smaller CMTs in Durban that we partner with. Don’t tell anyone this, but just to let you in on a secret: this small factory manufactures for some of the most popular local brands in Durban and Mozambique. But shhhhhh 😉🤫

Ntuzuma is one of the youngest townships in South Africa. It was built around the 1970s and falls under the “PINK” (Phoenix, Inanda, Ntuzuma and KwaMashu) programme of townships. This area has many informal structures due to low-income families and has seen many developments over the years, including the Bridge City Mall and Hospital. We at Seamartist enjoy the beautiful greenery and the friendliness of the people in the area.

Pictured above and below are just a few quick images we took while on our way to collect from one of our CMTs. Know that when you purchase one of our products, you are also helping to support the distribution of wealth into areas that traditional trade does not often prioritise.

We are #ProudlySouthAfrican and value talent and skill above all else
